Lojack is hidden in one of 30 places in the car. dis-assembly is required to see it.
The device should be tested every two year.
Lo jack company keep a record of the exact location of the device. If you call them with your VIN number, they will:
1.- Tell you if, in fact, your car have a lo-jack transponder
2.- Schedule a service/test for your lo-jack.

something tells me you are a 2nd owner of a vehicle that has a lojack installed. visit their website at www.lojack.com and then give them a call.

I'm sure their service isn't free, but I think they have a program for 2nd/nth owners.

Only your local law enforement agency with a lojack agreement can tell you if the system is working. And I don't think that's free either.
