Hey. It is an annoying characteristic, and it makes me wonder how many others are driven away from a message that could change their lives because of something like that.

Perhaps your son is just using that as an excuse to get out of going to church. Find another church and see if a non-spitting preacher makes a difference!

If he chews and spits then it might be a chance to explain about how some people are addics and can not keep from hurting themselves and that his actions are not right... if he just spits for the fun of it... then tell your son the right way to live... and show him by your actions what is right... he is going to see a lot worse in life... there are much more seriouse things to concider in leaving a church than if the preacher spits...

No, your son should not stop going to church because the preacher spits. Just tell him don't sit in the front row. We all spit a little when we talk.

He should stop going because he migh get molested.
He should sto going because it's wrong to encouurage schizoid behaviour in children.
