ok well i have a friend[[no it's not me]] and she says she took a pregnancy test and it came out positive,, but a week later she had her period...is it still possible to be pregnant and have your period???

Yes!! I myself had a period, and didn't even know I was pregnant because of my period. My friend had a period at 19 weeks pregnant. She went to the emergency room because we though she was miscarrying. But her cervix was closed and the ER Doctor said that he could find no reason for her bleeding. Follow up at her regular OBGYN, confirmed that she was still pregnant. Doctor told her that as long as the bleeding was light pink to medium that it wasn't necessary to become alarmed. But if the bleeding was bright red and heavy, then miscarriage was probably trying to take place. In any case your friend needs to seek medial help ASAP. Hope all goes well for all involved. It's possible to experience some bleeding though she should see a doctor because it could turn into a problem or a miscarriage.
It is also possible to have a pregnancy test be a false positive. I had one earlier this year and it scared the crap out of me. But, it is very, very rare to have a false positive test if you took it correctly.
Tell your friend to go to the doctor. It would be the safest for her at this time.

Well since she is having her period after getting a positive test,she most likely had a chemical pregnancy.Meaning she was pg but miscarried right after.Chemical pregnancy is so common that alot of woman never even know they were pregnant,and just pass it off as there period.

yes, i got my period for first 3 months of my pregnancy, some have it through out. But I'd still get it checked out by a doctor, because it can be a miscarriage.

Yes. And it could have been a bad test. And she might have miscarried.
You really should have her go to the doctor if there is any chance that she is pregnant.

Yes, it is very possible to get your period while pregnant. Or it could have beent he beginning of a miscarriage.

yes,I really get sick of this under age sex stuff . I don't remember any of my Friends getting pregnant under the age of 18 !Tell her to Go to a DR. If she is too young to understand pregnancy, she is way to young to be having sex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
