Could be a problem. My advice to you is to carry whatever picture ID you have and bring other forms of ID, most importantly your birth certificate. I'm betting my colleagues in TSA will cut you some slack as long as they're satisfied that you are who you say you are and can prove it. But as soon as you get back, get in and get another state ID or drivers license.

Josiah, As a student pilot interior the united states, you do no longer ought to hold a image identity on you, or for that depend, any identity once you're flying with an instructor. once you're working the plane from the left seat you're no longer yet able to workout percentprivileges. you will workout those privileges as quickly as you have won your inner maximum pilot's license. At which factor any flight you're making, except for one greater score at the same time with a complicated endorsement, would be percenttime regardless of an instructor. working example, i'm a rated inner maximum pilot. whilst i replaced into practise as a student pilot, i did no longer to have any documentation on me as my CFI replaced into the p.c.. I did carry some basically in case we've been ever ramped yet i'm no longer required to. If I made a solo flight then I had to hold my medical, student pilot license and a image identity yet for trouble-free flight practise my CFI replaced into the p.c.. in case you fall into this type and choose a image identity to solo, then get a non-motive force state issued identity from the state of Texas. in case you have yet to solo, you're able to attend till the motorbike identity is provided in. once you're a private pilot already and practise for extra scores, then as you reported interior the far above, you ought to have a image identity on you as you would be the p.c.. wish this made experience for you however the shrink and dry of it quite is: As a student pilot you do no longer act as percentunless soloing the plane and for this reason it quite is not a necessity so which you would be able to have image identity on your person, albeit it quite is sensible to have it on you. consistent with far area sixty one.fifty one (4) A student pilot might log pilot-in-command time in basic terms whilst the student pilot— (i) Is the only occupant of the plane or is appearing the duties of pilot of command of an airship requiring better than one pilot flight crewmember; (ii) Has a modern solo flight endorsement as required below §sixty one.87 of this area; and (iii) Is modern technique practise for a pilot certificates or score.

If you look on the TSA website they require a government issued ID - so I don't think that your work ID will be sufficient.
