Carmex is best - packaged like chapstick but much better. Ask for it by name. Good Luck!

Vaseline does work, and you can use some odor-free chapstick. You might want to try drinking more water too--sometimes continual chapped lips (not due to cold weather) is sometimes due to dehydration.

Try a big greasy coat of Vaseline before you go to bed. Wash your face in warm soothing water and then slather on the shiny stuff.
Also, make sure to drink lots of water and keep your bedroom and where ever else you spend a lot of time, nice and humidified. Winter is a bad time for dry skin and chapped lips.

I used to have terrible lips. I use regular chap stick, but I brush my teeth and my lips and then I put on Chapstick everytime after brushing. Now, my lips are perfect.

actually, your body is just telling you you need more water. drink lots of water and you'll notice this problem decreases. chapstick helps alot though too - use it at night if you absolutely can't stand it and get Kiehl's #1lip balm. apply liberally. this recipe is the best by far for both men and women. it locks in moisture for the whole day so you don't have to reapply, but it's good to carry it around with you. don't lick your lips! that only dehydrates them more. good luck. i had the same problem, but now i'm all good.

most chapsticks are petrolium based (as is Vaseline) this seals the lips but doesn't allow any moisture in so it doesn't really help. Try lip stuff that is made of Shea butter - it truly moisturizes and heals lips.

Im extremely confident its because your lip are already disadvantaged of moisture. and once you lick them they alter into moist. at the same time as they alter into moist the moisture is ideal this second absorbedand leaves your lips wanting extra moisture. once you be conscious chap stick that is made up of oil and has a waxy consistency which does not enable your lips to soak up it as quickly as undeniable previous saliva. both that or the acidity interior the saliva would nicely be the reason
