There is a bridge u want to cross. However it cost money to cross and u dont have any. There is a gaurd, he sleeps for 5 minutes, wakes up,checks the bridge, goes back to sleep for 5 minutes and so on. it takes 10 minutes to cross the bridge. u dont have time to get money, how do u cross the bridge?

One way is that you could start walking across just after he goes back to sleep....walk for almost five minutes....then turn around and slowly start walking back. The guard would shout at you...you tell him that you're sorry you don't have any money, but you REALLY need to get across. He wouldn't care, and would tell you to return. So you slowly (looking disappointed) walk back...to the side you really wanted to get to, anyway.

When the guard fall asleep, you start crossing the bridge. You walk backwards. When the guard wakes up, he will think you are returning from the other side. When he goes back to sleep, you turn back around and continue crossing to the other side.

Simple, you get as near to the bridge as you can, then watch for the precise moment the guard falls asleep. Seeing how he`ll be asleep for 5 minutes you`ll have time to make it half way across the bridge before he takes notice, it`ll take him five minutes to make it to the middle of the bridge but with the five minutes it`ll take him to reach that same half way point you`ll have already made it to the other side.

Start crossing when the guard is sleeping and you have a 5 min head start, by the time he wakes up your already half way across.
