i have never been able to feel puls in my temples before. today i was lying down and noticed strong pulse. put my finger on left temple and very clear line where pulse runs and its beating strong-not faster tho? is everything ok ?

Yes, everything is O.K. Notice of your heart rate is known as palpitation.

Palpitation usually occurs when there is increased heart activity. Palpitation is not really a medical disease, but often caused by some other source, i.e. the overuse of stimulants, including caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas), nicotine, diet pills, and medications such as decongestants.

Very rarely, palpitations occur because of an underlying medical ilness. These medical illness includes: Anemia, Anxiety, Some thyroid problems, Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and Mitral valve prolapse, a mild deformity of one of the valves in your heart.

However, you may want to consult with your doctor for an electrocardiogram (ECG) to help rule out serious heart rhythm disturbances. You should also ask your health care provider to show you several physical maneuvers that may be used to slow your pulse without medication and diet.
