Psalm 81

13 "If my people would but listen to me,
if Israel would follow my ways,

14 how quickly would I subdue their enemies
and turn my hand against their foes!

15 Those who hate the LORD would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.

16 But you would be fed with the finest of wheat;
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."

It tells me that God is the same in the Old Testament and the New alike.

He rewards faith, and punishes doubt. Those that are in His camp are blessed. But those that are given His word decided to ignore Him, and He does have a temper!

I also notice that His love is available for the common thread of trust. Trusting Him is the do all and be all of the faithful. He sent His Son because He promised that time to come. And God always proves His word. Always!

The people's resistance to obeying God let to their punishment. God identifies the root of the people's problems their stubborn heart. They wanted to follow their own ways and refused to listen to God.

I think it's a great passage, but, unfortunately, as proven by time, mankind, as a whole, will never live up to it.

They should redo it so it is from the Mob.

Guido, if you pay me I will offer you protection.
I will not rape your wife and beat your head into the pavement.

If you do not pay me, I will make you watch me kill your family before I kill you.

Insert profanity where necessary.
