Myself and my girlfriend are heading to New York for New Year's Eve and were wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how we should spend the evening? Obviously, we could head to Times Square, but we just wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions or if you think Times Square is the place to be?.....Thanks

Actually I wouldn't recommend Times Square unless your idea of fun is being packed in like sardines and corralled like cattle. I must say it looked like fun on tv, but in real life, it's just usually a cold, obnoxious, anti-climactic experience...
I'd definitely recommend finding a window in a Times Square apt or some other place with a good view. A slightly smaller party close enough to Times Square to catch the excitement's the way to go. Unless you want to do it just to say you did it, I don't see a point in standing out so long in the cold squeezed between millions of other strangers...

I would not recommend Times Square. Personally, I am planning on spending it at a local bar with friends or at a restaurant that we can just walk into without a reservation to eat and drink.

broadway show....get discount tickets at the tkts booth in times square.
there are unlimited neighborhoods to explore culture and culinary tastes
honestly you cant go wrong with whatever you do....

Take alot of something you can handle, hang out were there is plenty of women, stay out with your new found friends all night, bring some protective "balloons" with you for safety.
