I sent my daughter to daycare with out a diaper rash. She came home red as can be (it isn't on her bottom it's all on her front)
I was told she had a BM and wasn't changed for 30 mins which is not good to if you smell it you should change it asap!
My daycare director is saying she had to have a rash before she came in and it didn't happen in one day.
My daughter does have skin allergies does that come into play to make it red faster?
Thanks

We haven't changed anything with her. Her allergies are usually eczema with her allergies. My question is would the BM cause an allergic reaction being on her for 30 mins against the skin?
The bm was probabally squished to her front parts since she was in the diaper a while. The rash is only on her front private parts.

First, if your daughter has skin allergies, you need to have her tested to know what causes them. A rash from an allergy can pop up in seconds after exposure to the cause. If there is something at her daycare that she's allergic to, you need to have them remove it.

Second, I doubt very much that a diaper rash will appear outside of the diaper area. A diaper rash is simply an irritaion caused by the long exposure to urine and/or poop. 30 min is not a long time relatively (although it should be changed asap). Diaper rash is most often due to inadequite cleaning. Be careful with diaper creams, especially if your daughter has sensitive skin. My girl had a diaper rash (her first) and we used the Huggies creme which actually made it worse. Her Dr said the best thing was to bathe the area after each changing (not just with wipes) and keep it dry.

Third, the rash you describe sound like a reaction, maybe to something against her skin (although I'm guessing this area is pretty much covered by clothing), or maybe to food. Until you know exactly what your child is and isn't allergic to you won't know what to avoid. If you suspect an allergy, try children's Benedryl, which works for almost any allergy. If it goes away quickly, definitely have your daughter tested for allergies. Good luck.

For us Diaper "rash" (more irritation than rash) shows up moments after a BM. I'm not just talking about a little redness. I am talking about bright red welts and even some open sores that burn if the baby pees after the BM! It is horrible! If the BM is left for even 5-10 minutes, the welts and sores will bleed. Its horrible! My Kids have sensative skin and if unattended the sores will take a week or so (of changing them Every hour and diaper cream and powder every change) before it clears up. The director of you daycare center must not have ever seen a child who reacts as fast as mine!
Your daughters rash sounds very normal to me. It is very reasonable for it to come up like you describe. If it concerns you at all, let the dr. know and they can look at it and give you some tips or perscription diaper cream.

a rash can come up within a couple of hours. my son is 2 and he is really sensitive. especially if she might have had diarrhea. its gets really bad because of all the acid. keep ointment on her then cover the ointment with powder to keep it from sticking to her diaper.
