I am 99% that there is NO way salt turns into sugar which turns into fat. Salt and sugar have totally different chemical structures. Too much salt can make you "gain" weight because it can make you retain water (increasing your body weight). But whatever salt your body doesn't use, is flushed from your system. You need some salt in your diet because it helps your body uptake water (along with potassium and other nutrients) and helps maintain blood pressure, and conduct nerve impulses. In addition, most salt is fortified with iodine which is a nutrient that your body needs, but doesn't really get anywhere else (without iodine you can get goiters). The US Recommended Daily Allowance for salt is less than 2400 mg. Your body needs a minumum of 500 mg/day for normal function. If you exercise, you need more than that as you can sweat out salt during exercise.

Talk to your physician and a nutritionist about salt intake.
It is my understanding that there is no one size fits all amount of salt intake.
There is no clear determination of how much salt and to what degree it will affect any given individual.
It is my understanding that one should avoid adding salt to food; especially processed foods that already have salt of various types and quantities added to them.

"salt turns into sugar which turns into fat"
Who told you that? Not true.

Current reccommended value is 2,400 mg. It is better to keep it under 2 gm

no its no longer. 8 hrs is counseled sleep hrs a night for an energetic individual. if that individual yawns lots then he's no longer getting adequate sleep. if u cant get 8 then certainly shoot for 7 and a 0.5. in case you cant do the two, then stay with 6 and be sure you get a snooze throughout the time of the day.
