Here's the deal. I'm good friends with a guy who's one year younger than me (however, ebcause of when our birthdays are, he's two grades behind me). Because of this, I know I can't date him, it'd just be considered creepy to everyone else. However, I've always been one to tell guys that I like them, It feels good to get it off my chest. However in this case, I know nothing can come of it. Should I still tell him?

PS...I'm 17, he's 16, I'm in grade 12, he's in grade 10.

Age really doesn't matter and as soon as you graduate, that grade stuff won't matter anymore. The second you're done with h.s. you'll realize that life isn't a popularity contest, you have to do what makes you happy. I dated younger guys in h.s. and to be honest- it's fun! Of course I think you should tell him- maybe you guys don't have to get married, but there's nothing wrong with having a little fun while you're young!!

Only a year apart that’s not bad. If you like him nothing should stop you from getting together. It may seem now that you are ages apart because he is two grades below you but really that is not that much time. Most couples have at least a one year difference in age. So yeah you should tell him even if you don’t go out with him, it would be nice to get it off your chest, like you said.
Go for it!!

First off, if you like him, why does it matter what everyone else thinks, they are not in a relationship with him..you are..or would be...Who cares what others think it is your life and not thiers..

To answer your question..no you do not tell the guy....It would be cruel to him...If you HAVE to get it off your chest...write a letter about it adresses to him and spill your guts then burn it. The letter is only for you, not him.

You can totally date him! It's only a 2 year difference and I know couples that are freshman-senior. So tell him and see if anything comes of it! Age is just a number...

Why can't you date him? I dated a freshman guy during my senior year of high school. We made sure our parents approved and were comfortable beforehand. Are you using his age to keep yourself from dating him? Is that really the prime reason?

Something like 2 yrs difference in grade should not matter. When it will matter is when you are 21 and he is not ... Do you want to go thru this with him or not?

that would be totally up to you . If it would make you feel better and not cause complications between you and him than go for it. But you gotta think about the effect it might have of telling him. and how it might strain ur friendship.
