I read the FAQ, ReadMe, etc. on the Microsoft website for 11, but I did not find this question or answer. They state to get latest updates before installing 11. Is 11 just another level built upon 10? They mention creating a specific file in 11...a monitor file? I cannot locate where I read this. Any advice? Thanks.

No. Just install Media Player 11. It will basically like overlap your 10 player and give you all the new features and updates.

Plus it will not install a whole new program on your computer, like I said, it basically just updates your media player.

I have 11, and I personally like it.

No, Version 10 and 11 are separate programs. They recommend getting that latest updates for windows to make sure that Windows Media player 11 works with as little problems as possible.

No you shouldn't have to uninstall 10 prior, the install of 11 will handle it.

As a side-note, if you don't have a genuine windows key/valid windows it won't let you install WMP 11.
