He won't take a pacifier. The pedi recommended Domeboro, which I tried but can't get him to soak for more than a minute. He won't keep any kind of wrap on his fingers. I use Aquaphor several times a day also. This all helps, but still isn't really fixing it.

my 4 year old does the same thing i think its just something they have to grow out of,his is always cut open and theres really nothing you can do about it cause their going to do it anyways,non the less it does not make you feel any better as a mother,i have 4 kids and trust me i feel helpless all the time, because i cant just fix things before they get get bad, my 7 yr. old has heart problams and i cant fix that, so therefore if thats the least of your worries, it will get better your baby will grow out of is sooner or later, sorry if that was rude

I would have to say that you need to make him suck the pacifier. This could get serious and even lead to a social worker. Ask your child's doctor and even More doctors until they come up with a resolution. I've never heard of them not having a answer that didn't work.And just because your doctor can't help you don't give up. I haven't had this problem but i would say for know out the medicine on it and maybe he want suck them if that nasty medicine is on there. You may not like this but i say take those finger out of his mouth and pop that hand when he tries to put them back in. Good luck...

You probably wont like this answer but take his fingers out of his mouth every time you see them in there and tell him NO NO. None of my kids suck their thumb or fingers and I have 5. Binki breaking and finger sucking is just going to be hard to break and they will cry when you break them of the habbit, suck up the crying now. it will get better they grow fast! By the way he is 12 mo which is a year old he should be drinking out of a tippie cup and not using binki's or bottle by now. He is turning ito a little boy start making him grow up and stop treating him like a baby. good luck

tape them and my brother did that and not they are scarred and had like little bubbles on them from sucking them. Its so gross... Tape them or put something gross that he hates to taste

try vaseline. ... it will taste yucky too and he wont want to put it in his mouth
