I don't see any Islamic or Buddhist shows were they ask for money, I don't see Catholic Priests on TV asking for money, why does it only seem to be Protestant fundamentalists with shows asking for money?

I don't know about the others, but the catholics have their own TV stations and I would think have to depend on people sending money.
The secular TV depends on us to buy the products that they advertise. Christians probably could use advertising, but the Bible way is offerings instead of business.
I am NOT saying that I am in agreement with the exaggerated lifestyles that the TV preachers live, but they WILL give an account to God for what they have done with what they have and I don't think that all these private jets are going to pass the test..

They are egotistical. There message, while it may include Christian teaching and doctrine, is laced with their own personal message. If that is where a person gets their view of Christianity, that is sad. That is not what it is about.

It does take money to do things...but the churches I have been associated with have never asked for money nor have they ever had to ask for money...it is strictly on a voluntary basis and it has served very well....

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's because they are shameless, money grabbing hypocrites. Some of them are so clueless when it comes to the lessons of Jesus they think the beatitudes are a 60's rock band.

They dress up in $2000 suits and wear gaudy diamond jewelry and then get poor old ladies to send them a big chunk of their social security check.

Its called fundraising. Public TV stations and radio stations do the same. Islam is funded primarily by states and Buddhists are so embedded in their culture they don't have to get on TV to ask for donations. Everybody knows the Catholic church is wealthy beyond measure, they do not need to get on TV to ask for money.

This is what Christ meant when he said, "Not all who preach in my name shall be saved." Why? Because they are just using Christ's name to enrich themselves
