Either way is fine, as long as you hide exactly what it is, so that the recipient gets a surprise.

Not always; but I do try to reuse at least some of the wrappings. I buy wrapping paper that uses recycled paper when I can find it, but I rarely reuse the wrapping paper....although reading the answers has given me an idea to iron the paper....;) I do reuse bags and boxes. Some of our gift bags have been used for 5 years. I have some boxes that we've used for 3 or 4 years. My husband was teasing me yesterday because I saved some of the tissue paper from the bags too. I have 3 of the giant plastic gift bags that have been around for nearly 10 years. I use the paper from our shredding machine in packages that I ship. I'm still trying to figure out a way to dye it or paint it to use in gift bags.....:)

Nope, you can use gift wrap or a decorative bag. Don't use the bag from the store - that's just lazy. Go to the drugstore and get a simple christmas-themed bag or gift wrap.

I don't think it's weird at all to wrap a CD. There are also gift-boxes and gift-tins that are specifically made for CDs or DVDs. Or, try a previous suggestion - putting it in a box first.

WRAPPING IS NOT THE BEST. THE PURPOSE OF THE GIFT IS THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE. WOULD YOU ALSO WRAP A BALL OR A BIKE? WITH A CD, IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BAG OR AT LEAST BE IMAGINATIVE.

Not weird to wrap. It can drive you a bit batty with the short edges. A bag can offer a bit more protection to the jewel case so its less likely to crack before the recipient gets it.

No, it's not weird. Either wrap or a bag is just fine.

That wouldn't be weird at all. I even gift wrap my Christmas cards.

You can put it in a bigger box to surprise them. Rap just the CD up, then tape it to the bottom of a bigger box (so it won't shake). Then, wrap up the bigger box.
