I have very, very curly hair. However, i straighten it all the time and its now FRIED. in the middle of my head, there's a random patch of short hair (not visible) from all the frying. how do i fix this? i've tried conditioning and deep conditioning but it hasn't been helping.my curls are still as damaged as ever. plus im still addicted to my straightener....what is the safest most non-damaging ay of straightening it?
...some people tell me you shouldn't grease before straightening, while others say you should because it protects the individual strands. i am out of solutions.....what do i do to repair my hair, and what's the safest way of straightening?
any answers are appreciated.

Just use all the steps and you shouldn't have a problem. I have tried lots of products but this stuff has been the best for me. As for repair, there's not much you can do other than waiting for it to grow out and cutting. but you can prevent further damage.

Redken and Biolage both have hair serums that really help a lot. Usually you should put them in your damp hair and leave them on for 6 hours or more then rinse, they do a deep conditioning. As for the small hairs you may want to not straighten your hair if it is that damaged, it will just further the split ends and your hair will get worse. Also sometimes cutting hair so that most of the damage is gone is another way to solve the problem, although with super curly hair that might be hard. Also letting your hair dry naturally without blowdrying it is also better for your hair.

It sounds like you are an African American. So your hair must be nappy, right? Don't worry, I am too. One thing that you should know is that straightening your hair is not the only way to go about getting good looks for yourself. You can go natural too you know. But if that's too much of a leap, just try curls. Like short curls. That's cute. I used to have severely damagd hair too, and I'm still nursing it. It's well on its way and everyone thinks my fro' is off the chain! But one thing that you should know is to keep mosturizing. You have to get into a habit of mosturing your hair consistently even if you don't see results right away. Deep conditioning two times a week is the best! And, yes USE GREASE IN YOUR HAIR BEFORE STRAIGHTENING!!! I don't know why those people told you not to grease your hair (make sure you were talking to black people too), but they are sooo wrong. Not only does this protect your hair from drying and breaking, but it protects your scalp too and growth starts from the scalp. Keepin mind: a healthy scalp promotes healthy hair! I think that you should also know not to use heat in our hair too much. Heat is not good for hair, no matter what type. Try new styles, like the curls I insisted. But don't use a curling iron, use a bunch of curlers instead! Hope this helped a little! Oh, and try castor oil as a moisturizer!

Very curly hair is VERY fragile in the first place. Heat, chemicals, frequent washing, handling (overcombing or overbrushing), using too many products all can contribute to more damage to already fragile hair. First things first, give your tresses a break from the straightening! Go natural for a while. Using a leave in conditioner like Infusium after shampooing can help. Deep conditioning by using cholesterol and a plastic cap once a week can also help add moisture to your hair (which is what you lose by frequently using heat on your hair). Also, drying your hair by using a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer when your hair is damp NOT wet can help reduce the damage you are doing by using so much heat. If you can't avoid using your straightening iron, limit the amount of time you use it (if you straighten daily, try straightening weekly instead or if you do it weekly, reduce it to monthly). The fact of the matter is if you continue to use heat frequently, you will continue to damage your hair....

what is frying your hair is the heat obviously it is drying it out, i am guessing u are white so ill say this because u are taking out the natural oil from your hair u need to replace it, u dont have to use grease find some type of product that has a little oil or something they have products for u guys to help from damaging your hair, and i heqard some white girl say she washes her hair every other day becasue she straightens it, so try washing like every 2 days u have curly hair so u could probably maybe go 3 i dont know, but the only way to repair your hair is to get those dead ends cut they will keep splitting and eventually your hair will keep getting shorter. keep using good conditioners because the new hair that grows u want to keep healthy!!! but i use this citre shine stuff that is made for white people and it helps my hair from being damaged and it isnt greasy u should try and use some when u are going to flat iron your hair its called citre shine they should have it at walgreens, they have 2 kinds one to spray and one u put in your hand!!!

Repairing your hair takes a while, it's not gonna repair over night, so, I would suggest to go natural, and pick up a coconut oil conditioner type of thing. After you repair your hair, go out and get a relaxer, I use them all the time, it's a whole kit that straightens your hair for up to two months, get the one for sensitive scalp. These are great because they allow you to use your straightener minimally. Hope this helps!!!. Good Luck.

My hair was extremely damaged as well from coloring/bleaching. I went to a professional salon for starters. At that point I got a lot cut off but not all of it. Use a "leave-in" conditioner by Paul Mitchell called "The Conditioner". Also if you want your hair to be straight have a professional straighten your hair. It is costly but my niece had it done & it turned out beautiful!

well i know when i washed my hair every day and was coloring it like crazy i got gross and dry... i stopped straightening it everyday... maybe you should try that.... and then dont wash your hair everyday.. do it every other day.. your stripping your hair of natural oils that it NEEDS... maybe talk to a stylist and see what they recommend... a new straightener may do the trick... unless you already have a really good tourmaline or ceramic plated one with the ion tech. i dont put anything in before i straighten mine bc my hair dresser said i shouldnt.. i straighten it then use paul mitchel skinny serum and everyone just LOVES my hair.. they cant even tell that its damaged... haha hope you find something that works for you. oh ya.. maybe try a good overnight leave in conditioner...

If your hair is that severly damaged the only way to help it is to cut it, just have them cut as much damaged area's it will look better. Then to weekly hot oil treatments, get it cut every 6 weeks your hair might be shorter than you like for a while but in the long run you will be better off.

The only way I know to repair SEVERELY damaged hair is to chop it off. I also straighten my hair almost everyday. I put grease in it while it wet, straighten and then put shine stuff on it. My hair is rather healthy! Hope this helps, good luck!
