My girlfriend broke up with me recently because when we had our first kiss, she didn't feel anything. Is this a good reason to end a relationship? We've only been dating for a month and a half.

she also told me 2 days later that if we were to kiss again, she wouldn't feel anything

The first kiss is a very important thing for women. It tells us if we want to further the relationship or not!!!

That first kiss is probably the most powerful kiss between a couple. Although for men it may only be a kiss, for women it means much more. We can tell how caring our partner is, if there is a future, but most importantly if there is a connection. We need the fireworks. The chemistry can be amazing in every other aspect of the relationship, but there also needs to be physical chemistry. Is it rational, does it make sense? No, of course not, but realistically, when it comes to matters of the heart, there is no such thing as rational.

Wait, it took you a month and a half to land a kiss?? Or did you have your first kiss over a month ago and she just broke up with you.... If you just had your first kiss and she dumped you cause there was no spark, then yea, that's rational... if she doesn't feel anything why should she stick around? However, if you had your first kiss over a month ago and she JUST broke up with you.. she found someone else and she just made up some lame excuse to dump you...

Girls are taught a "fantasy" version of dating and love. This chick probably believes that if she doesn't feel anything then that means you are not right for her. In her mind this is a very rational thought. In your mind it is not. With this Chick, living in her fantasy world, you will never be able to satisfy her "dream." So in that sense you are better off ending the relationship now than later.
Go look for someone else with a little more depth.
Good Luck

sometimes women believe that their relationship should be as wonderful and as exciting as what they see in movies. conversely, we men think women should be as hot as what we see in magazines and movies.

nonetheless, a first kiss is usually incredibly exciting. maybe you need improvement in that category or she realized there's no true attraction between the two of you. how was the kiss for you?

if you're willing to try again, i suggest you take her somewhere that is somewhat secluded and romantic (i.e. beach, lover's lane, picnic, quiet area of a party, stairwell of building). surprise her by pulling her toward you with moderate force, but not too hard to scare her. pin her again a wall or something she can brace herself against. give her a very passionate kiss with a little tongue. make sure you don't kiss her too hard or hurt her with your teeth. most us guys make the mistake of kissing too hard which a lot of the girls hate. use a lot of lip and it's okay to make it a little wet but not too sloppy. most girls like to be kissed the way they would kiss (lips), therefore kiss her the way you think she would kiss you. your chest should be pressed up against hers but don't crush her. if you unintentionally hurt her in any way, the kiss will end before it starts. start with both hands on her cheeks (face) and back of her head. she must really feel how much you enjoy kissing her like it's the best thing ever, so really put something behind it. as you continue to kiss move your hands to her back and hip, just enough to get her excited. if she really believes that you are into her it'll make the kiss that much better. good luck.

isn't the point of dating to find someone to spend the rest of your life with? If she feels that the relationship is going nowhere then she probably wanted to move on and find something more substantial. You can always ask her if there are any other reasons why she broke up with you. Just think of this as your opportunity to find someone better.

Oh yes, this makes total sense. I have to feel intense sparks when I'm kissing someone or what's the point??

Her breaking-up with you because there was no spark makes PERFECT sense to me. Either it's there or it isn't.

What doesn't make sense is that you call her your girlfriend. You hadn't kissed her yet, and you had only been dating a little over a month.

YOu know what she is crazy because some people still believe in the fairy tale and not real life. I think that is insane to end it because of the first kiss.

no!!!! that is not really the end but she only feels that when you kiss her, she didn't feel hot. try hugging her during kiss and rubbing her back and shoulder while on kissing. but be careful of your temptation. make sure that she responses and likes what you are doing.
