Yes, stress most certainly can weaken your immune system: I was sick a LOT while under stress. Smoking and drinking don't help either.
Other things that might weaken your system are:
Insufficient rest
Excessive sugar
Poor nutrition
Believe it or not, pollution
Considering how, after all, your immune system is what's keeping you from getting sick, it comes under assault every day. There is no one thing that will weaken it.

All of the above can weaken your immune system, including sleep deprivation and drug abuse. You body has to concentrate on the other things you were doing and healing itself (like smoking, drinking ect)...so eventually, your immunity will weaken.This is why people who smoke get sick often, with bronchitis, colds, ect.
