worry about my spiritual well being? I struggle between doing what I desire and doing what I've been taught is right and I become overly concerned with the implications of my struggle. What is important and why? What do you do when you act one way, but secretly beleive something else? Are you saving face or attempting to do what's right? Are you supposed to deny your self-indulgences or accept them as normal and healthy expressions of yourself? What do you all think?

You constantly worry about your spiritual well being because that's natural and apparently what you think you should be doing does not go with what you've been taught to think you should be doing.

What's important is for you to be fulfilled and happy, spiritually, no matter what belief system to do or don't subscribe to.

If you are acting one way but secretly believing something else, you should explore what you are being drawn to believe. I think that you are saving face when you do this. I did it for a while when I went to church but knew I didn't believe what everyone was saying. Eventually you will tire of the hypocrisy in doing this and will drop the act, which is a good thing (although it may entail many fights with your friends and family!)

Explore your self-indulgences. If you don't like them or honestly feel that they are limiting you or making you a bad person, then you will have no desire to continue doing them. Don't worry so much about if what you think or wonder is right or wrong!! Explore, learn, challenge!

Just be yourself! That's about the most important thing in life unless you want to be 100% fake! I'd say don't worry about your spiritual well being because you will see that part when you die no need to worry about this now. Moreover i've heard that dieing isn't even a bad thing to feel but a nice thing. Anyway...just be yourself and think what you want about spirits and such things and don't worry about it!

I was in a religious struggle for a while, and all I did from there was to read up and study every religion for over a year (I turned my obsession into a hobby) and chose Paganism out of all of the potential religions because they are the least violent.

that is the nature of being a christian. when we are attempting to live our lives according to Gods Will, satan is obliged to torment and tempt us to do otherwise. when we are trying to do what is right, satan will bring stumbling blocks in our way to trip us up and cause us to do what is wrong. when we finally overcome one obstacle, a newer bigger one is put in it's place becasue the old ways of temptation no longer work. the Bible says quite specifically in Mark 8:34 (King James Version) "And when he (Jesus) had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
We don't just deny ourselves once and a while or occasionally, when we feel like it, we must do it daily...leading the life of a christian is not the EASY way but it is the RIGHT way! doing what is right is often not very easy.

What is right and wrong should be a simple decision. If it's not, the problem is more likely that you're a procrastinator than that you don't know what's right and wrong. Make a decision, run with it, if it's wrong, try a different decision next time. Don't dwell on the decision itself.

you are much like Paul (formerly Saul) He said the same thing as you did- the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!
Read Paul's writings, pray and ask for discernment and strength to do what is right. All of us fall but the grace of God is great- if your heart attitude is teachable, humble, correctable and honest, He will strengthen you to do what is right when it is the hardest!
