Has anyone else read Genesis 6 and Genesis 19 and noticed the mention of these interesting beings?

About the giants (also known as the Nephilim) of Gen 6.

Sub-questions: Were they supposed to be the wicked offspring - the result of the union between the 'daughters or men' and the 'sons of God' (also known as the 'sons of the nobles')?

If so, doesn't it mean that the 'sons of God' had unique genes? Perhaps they were giants themselves, or, as their titles suggest - perhaps they were like gods?

Now, about the angels...Gen 19 explicitly tells us of a pair of angels who interacted physically with the man named Lot. They obviously took on physical, human form. They ate bread. A gang of rowdy gay men (outside Lot's house) also saw them.

Has anybody else noticed these 'physical angels'?

Note: I'm not here for a scientific argument. All who have an interest in the Bible as well as the paranormal are welcome. Sources - KJV and Judaica Press Complete Tanach.

They were the fallen angels, who were mating with women, making the children half man, half angel, an abomination, and the reason for the flood.

The Nephilim (or giants) are the offspring of humans and (wicked) angels. Angels had many different forms and some looked like humans.

For Marc P., If the angels were not wicked or fallen they would not have been mating with humans.

Maybe the giant King Arthur killed in Normandy was one of their descendants.

Or maybe it was all a myth....
I disagree with the above answer saying they were the offspring of fallen angels. Genesis says no such thing. It says they were angels. Please do not add to the Word of God....its perfect right?

For angie: If they were fallen it would have said so. It does not and as presumably the fall happened before Creation, they would have been fallen angels QED. Maybe god hadn't gotten around to making a Code of Conduct for them, a comoon mistake made by many new managers and businesses.

"Nephili" means roughly "fallen down"/"defeated"/"losers".

Nephilim aren't synonymous with giants, at least not until the spies sent by Moses told him that the giants they met could have been descendants of Nephilim.

Adam, Noah, and even Abraham are described to be giants. Noah and Abraham might have non-Adamic genes, but Adam is the originial.

As for 'physical angels'.

Mary the mother of Jesus also once met one, she was scared of him.

The Torah (Jewish translation) leaves no doubt as to what is meant: "It was then, and later too, that the Nephilim appeared on earth - when the divine beings cohabited with the daughters of men, who bore them offspring." (Gen 6:4)

There is another example of angels in physical form, when one wrestled with Abraham, I believe. I don't have the text for you, though.
