No such thing as a free dog.
Check local shelters & rescues, you might run into one.

If the reason you want a free/cheap dog is because you are tight on cash, realize that the expenses don't really even start 'till you get the dog home. I'm a huge advocate for rescue dogs, but leave the dog for someone that can afford to really take care of it or it will just end back up at the shelter. Sorry this is preachy, just something to think about.

Yes, I suggest rescuing a dog. They are much cheaper, and so many dogs are put to sleep daily. You can always do a google search to find shelters around your area. www.petfinder.com also has rescue groups that you can email and talk to about finding a new dog.
