While the word "dinosaur" is a relatively new word, there seems to be evidence in many places around the world that men and these creatures have co-existed. In the Bible, when God is responding to Job, in Job 40 and 41, we see two creatures described, the 'behemoth' and the 'leviathan.' Both are described as extremely large animals and seem reminiscent of descriptions of a dinosaur and a giant sea creature. Although Bible notes in many modern translations suggest these animals might be a hippo, a crocodile, an elephant, or other known animals, the Biblical descriptions defy those identifications.
The Rhamphorhynchoid Pterosaur -- Scaphognathus crassirostris: A "Living Fossil" Until the 17th Century All in all, then, there is reason to doubt the evolutionist timeline that says dinosaurs -- or the dragons -- died out before man ever arrived. There is simply too much evidence in stone, art, writing, and legend which contradicts that idea.

well i dont know if ur ameriicaaann from the us..... but we in europe have been discussing a lot about all those laws passing in the the different states of US regarding the theory of Evolution and the theory of Intelligent Design ( GOd and co.)
well it really depends what u believe in .. those who believe that god creates the earth in seven days reason themselves by thinking that the fossils found by man kind are either fake or that it is impossible to tell from how long they really are ...
Or if u believe in Evolution you will believe that there were bizzare ************* creatures before us .. and all of this died and went away because of natural factors ans slowly we came along etc ..
however many scientists believe in god and have no trouble admitting that the 7 days is pretty much impossible and that the Evolution theory is all very much real.
Now it is easy to think that oh well how is it possible toknow from when these bones are from .. but its all a matter of science .. etc... u just need to study it ... it is not about being brainwashed or soemthing like that .. hello science is medicine . doesnt the medicines cure us ?!
. i must go with the theory of evolution here ..
i mean we see cave men drawing , writtings that come form so long ago ... well then how come they NEVER represent anyyyy dinosaurs?
its not like the scientists/arecheologists are trying to create a new religions or something .. they were as shocked as a baboon when they found the fossil/bone of an unknown creature!!!

Do not have space or time to explain, but if you will do some research you will find many Bible Scholars will agree each creation day was 7000 years long.

The Genesis Account and Dinosaurs

While the radioactive dating method is innovative, it is still based on speculation and assumption. In contrast, the Bible account in the first chapter of Genesis simply states the general order of creation. It allows for possibly thousands of millions of years for the formation of the earth and many millenniums in six creative eras, or “days,” to prepare the earth for human habitation.

Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:20-24.

When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.

When Did They Live?

Dinosaurs played a dominant role in life on earth during their age. But then they came to an end. The rock layers containing human fossils consistently occur above those layers containing dinosaur fossils. Because of this, scientists generally conclude that humans came on the earthly scene later.

In this regard the book Palaeontology, by James Scott, states: “Even the earliest species of Homo sapiens (man) lived long after the disappearance of the dinosaurs . . . After tilting (through earth movement) has been allowed for, rocks containing fossil men consistently occur above those preserving the bones of the great dinosaur reptiles and it follows that the latter belong to an earlier age than the human remains.”

The earth was not created in six 24 hour days.(God rested on the 7th day) The Bible states that a thousand years is as one day to God. Animals were created long before Adam & Eve. There have been many skeletal remains found of dinosaurs, so we know they existed, Why God decided to put an end to them, we are not told. Mankind may not have been able to co-exist among such creatures, perhaps due to their size and large appetites (some were ferocious flesh-eaters) Whatever the reason, our Creator felt it necessary to end their species and just the fact that they did exist at one time proves to us how awesome God's creation was and is.

kinda make you question the faith doesn't it, or maybe the dinosaurs were on the earth while Adam and eve were in the garden of Eden and it was a different time space continuum so in there lifetime they lived through all the dinosaurs although it seem like only a few years. this is all just speculation on my part.

I am sure any diety that can make a planet in 7 days, can make dinosaur bones that appear to be 7 million years old.

Heck if a god can snap his fingers and make a dinosaur bone, why not make one with the right abount of the right carbon to look 7 million years old? it would be a good test of faith right? if you can make a mountain, why not one with dinosaur bones in it?
isnt faith what its all about?

But what the heck to I know, I am a buddhist.

Hello... =)

Well, true creationists believe in something I refer to as "the flinstonic period" of prehistory. Adam and Eve lived in the garden of Eden with happy little reptiles like dino. Satan, as a serpent, was a dinosaur, and got serpents punished, you see, for his nasty little tricks, by having their legs pulled off. That was pretty much the end of the dinosaurs, and the beginning of snakes.

A few managed to escape having their legs pulled off by god, and fled to Europe and China, where they lived for nearly 4000 more years, until around 1000 A.D., when the mongols, and the Catholic Knights killed the remainder of them. They were known as Dragons.

That's pretty much the history of the dinosaurs, from a creationist point of view. It is no more, or less valid than any other point of view, but it certainly is sillier.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that Neanderthals were the Nephilim....the sons of God, who "knew" the daughters of man. We interbred with them, and now they are a part of our genetic material.....so that explains them as well.....

Namaste,

--Tom

Because the creation story is simply a metaphor. There are similar metaphors in many other cultures. The difference is that of faith vs. knowledge.
