Well, I don't have really long hair, but my hair is blackish/brown and I found a way of curling it that is really cute and it really makes your hair shine. When you get out of the shower, put in some Set Me Up mousse to your roots and a little throughout your hair. Then, once it is dry, use the Set Me Up hairspray for every section of your hair right before you curl it with a curling iron. For extra hold after you are done curling your hair you can use Got2b Glued hairspray, with a side part. And Whalla! I got many compliments on my hair when I did it this way.

When I had long hair, I used to 'scrunch it' up a bit and make waves so perhaps you could do the same and it would be a big difference from your normal routine. When you get out of the shower allow your hair to be towel dried but while it is still a little bit damp put a lil' dime to quarter size amount of gel in your hand just have at your hair by applying little bits through out and scrunching it throughout your fingers and then let it continue to dry...or you could try experimenting with some more 'up-dos'...

You could cut it, which is what I did since I was too used to doing that whole scrunching thing and just being frustrated with not having anything to do with my long layered hair. Now my hair is short and easier to manager and do and I loved the change. Even if you don't like it, your hair will eventually grow back.

If you don't want to do anything so drastic, you could get some highlights (when my hair was black I put some deep red highlights in that looked amazing) or you could completely dye it a new color to see a dramatic chance.

I mean it depends on what you are willing to do and how sick you are of your regular hairstyle. For me, I get sick quite easily until I found my new shorter style. So perhaps, you just have to kinda experiment until you find what is right.

Good luck and take care:)

Buy a three barrel curling iron. It works wonders and the curly/wave stays in all day. Just make sure you spray each section with hairspray before you use it! I have long dark brown hair and whenever I used it I get so many compliments. I love it!

I have layered hair, too. What I like to do is blow-dry it so that the top layer kinda "poofs" (not crazy, but cute) out and the layers underneath flow out...arrgh I'm trying to think of how to explain...Here.. look at this link, this is kinda how I do my hair, but I poof it up in the back and then it looks really cute.
