Yes, some things did make Him angry, like the merchants on the steps of the Temple, desecrating God's temple. He was so mad He got out a bullwhip and started kicking butt and taking names. Jesus only says that "unwarranted" anger is a sin. I would call racism "unwarranted" anger, since the person you are angry at has done nothing to you, but just has a different skin color.
However, I can be angry at Planned Parenthood for murdering millions of children. I can be angry at a school system that teaches our children that they came from monkeys. I can be angry at a President who ignores the Constitution. I can be angry at sin. However, Jesus tells us that we should forgive those who make us angry.

anger is not a sin, it is an emotion.
certain acts out of anger are considered a sin in some religions. In the bible, there isn't the actual wording that anger is a sin, but hating one's brother is a terrible sin.
and any violent act that is mentioned out of "wrath" of man is usually, but not always cited as sinful.
However, Jesus did seem angry at the money changers at the temple, and hypocrites might have made him angry. Jehovah does seem to get angry at the children of Israel throughout the Old Testament, and even more angry at those who persecute Israel.
and at some points, there do seem to be valid reasons for people to be angry. Elias gets angry at the youths who mock him, Noah gets mad at his son, Job gets mad at the hypocrites who keep telling him to mock God and die. These men don't get criticised for being angry.
More often however, the angry guy or girl is a tyrant, who ends up getting a terrible punishment for what they did in anger (Herod, Jezebel, Pharaoh, Jeroboam, Saul)

Anger isnt a sin, its an emotion, its how you respond to anger and act on it that is either a sin or not. Yes, Jesus got angry, havent got the Gospel ref for it, but it was an incident when He threw moneychangers out of the temple as they were turning it into a place of business.

Why are some people saying no? ANGER is one of the 7 deadly sins - Jesus got angry at those people outside the temple changing money - but he wasnt really angry because that would have made him a sinner and it says somewhere that he lived without sin and the bible is never wrong. It just contradicts itself a lot and makes bugger all sense anyway. Regards.

Yes, hanging on to anger is a sin. But righteous anger is justified. St. Paul said not to let the sun go down on your anger, and to be angry, and sin not, so there are obvious times when anger is the appropriate emotion.
He was very angry when He cleared the Temple Court of the moneychangers and those that sold doves for sacrifice because they were known to be dishonest.

Be angry but do not allow your anger cause you to sin...
Eph 4:26-27
26And "don't sin by letting anger gain control over you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil.

Yes, Jesus was angry when he saw people selling their goods in the church.
Anger is not a sin, it says however we should be slow to anger, and to love one another, and to forgive one another.

Anger is not a sin. Rather it tells us something about what we are feeling. It stems from frustration for instance. If this is a case, maybe you should reconsider you technique (or whatever). Jesus had excellent control. He was a Rabbi, remember, when He brought the bundle of cords against the money changers. They appear to have been His "charge" if you will, because He was a Rabbi. Thus, He was correcting His flock. He probably knows better than many of us what was required.
The issue occurs when we lose ourselves to rage, or entertain violent thoughts, which is like murder and destruction.

Sin is any act against the Word and Will of God... what are you angry about?...are your thoughts are against the Word and will of God? If they are then it is a sin.... look to see what Jesus was angry about... wasn't his anger directed at those things that were against God's Word?
