I think they are both cute and reliable cars. But if I had to choose one between the two, I would probably go for the Honda fit. - I just saw they had a little small article in Time Magazine about it. Basically saying how woderful it is about fuel effieciency and such. Im just going to throw this other suggestion out there too, but have you considered the Toyota Yaris?? Its sooo cool! That would be my choice. Anyhoo, happy car buying!!

I'm not familiar with the Fit, but the Honda and Mazda 3 rank 1 and 2 in reliability (and really close) in Consumer Reports auto issue. This is based on the actual problems of 1,300,000 CR subscribers annual survey. I've had a Mazda 3s since April, 2006-no problems, more fun to drive than vettes and Audi's I've owned. It's based on the Volvo s40 chassis. the s gives you more HP, tires/wheels and better susspension the the regular 3.

i in my opinion love the variety of the mazda 3. My fiance has mazda 6 perfect now and that i've got a honda accord and that they are the two super autos. i don't in basic terms like the variety of the honda in good shape. the main differene between the two is that honda will constantly save its cost. In some months the mazda 3 will bypass down some thousand whilst the honda would in basic terms bypass down some hundred while it includes the cost of the vehicle. universal i think of honda is a lots extra suitable motor vehicle and could be extremely properly worth your funds. in case you do not choose th honda in good shape try in keeping with danger getting a civic. stable success.

As much as I like Hondas, the Fit is just ugly. I would have to go with the 3 if it were between those two vehicles. The 3 is also 148hp vs. 109.

I do not have or driven Fit. I have a 2006 Mazda3 with GT package (2.3L 4-cylinder and leather package).

It depends on what you are looking for in a car.

If you are looking for sprited driving, Mazda3 handles very well -- almost like a sports car. It also has a decent gas mileage. I get an average of 26-27 of mixed driving. However, I doubt it's anywhere near Fit.

I recommend Mazda3 purely based on fun to drive quotient, as well as fit-and-finish. If you are looking for fuel economy, there are better cars.

I had a hell of a lot of fun on my Mazda 3 test drive. If you can afford this car, I would DEFINITELY go for it!

(IMHO, the Versa by Nissan is the best choice)
