just remember this, more out and less in

Stay away from all sodas and candy.
Read the portions on the side of stuff. most people gain b/c they don't eat the right size of meal
Eating up to 6 small meals a day is better than eating 3 huge ones. and by meals i mean like breaky, snack(apple or nuts) lunch, snack (raisins or whole wheat crackers) Supper , snack (unbuttered hot air popped popcorn)

walk as much as possible. stand on your tippy toes when you're brushing your teeth, that will help your calves.

Try this workout (see link)
I'm doing it now and i love it!
Hope i helped:)

At your age you don't need to diet per se'. You just need to eat healthy and get exercise.

Try to give up the sweets and sodas. No French Fries either! You need to make a big effort to eat fruits and veggies....avoid foods that are fried and other foods that have lots of sugar.

Sodas are horrible for you! Drink more water. If you drink 8 glasses a day, you will see a change!

You need to find time to get some healthy activities into your schedule. Try walking after school, maybe a little running, bike riding, or roller blading. Any activity that you can do to get you moving will be good for you. Even turning on some music and dancing around your room will help burn calories.

I was very overweight as a teenager. It wasn't until my adult life that I learned how to eat better and take better care of myself. I wish you the best on your efforts.

You are still growing for one thing. If you want to loose weight, eat about 4-5 small meals a day. This will increase your metabolism. Also stay away from food with high sugar aka junk food, soda. Cut down on your carbs too. Drink more water than anything. Don't do a diet, just change your eating habits.

Don't make yourself crazy with counting calories and stuff, you're only 14! Pay more attention to what you're putting in.
Think healthy habits. Cut out the junkfood - chips, fast food, soda (even diet soda) -, minimize it or banish altogether.
Don't leave your house without having breakfast (I don't mean Pop Tarts, either)
Trade soda for water or pure juice
Get more fruits and veggies in and
Make sure you're getting adequate protein and dairy

Most importantly - do not go for any of these fad diets, you will mess up your system and be more worse off than you started.

Before considering a diet, WHICH IS UNHEALTHY AT YOUR AGE! You should eat a balanced diet if you are not already doing so and make EXERCISING part of your EVERYDAY life. This is an excerpt from a web site to help you determine how to excercise so you can maximise your benefits. Hope it helps.
Physical activity is mandatory for all ages. Nearly half of young people ages 12-21 are not vigorously active on a regular basis. Physical activity declines dramatically with age during adolescence, and female adolescents are much less active than their male counterparts. Adults also fair poorly, with almost half of all adults not reporting regular activity, and almost 1/3 reporting an inactive life style. For more information you can go to http://www.cdc.gov or The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Box SG Suite 250, 701 Pa. Ave, NW, Wash. D.C. 20004.
Cardio-respiratory fitness is the cornerstone of physical fitness. This type of exercise uses large muscles in a continuous manner that increases the heart rate and breathing for a set amount of time. So what is aerobic exercise? You can include the following: treadmills, rowers, stair climbers, exercise bikes, elliptical machines, kick boxing, roller blading, ice skating, swimming, canoeing and boating, jogging, racquetball, power walking, running, and dancing of energetic kinds. We know you can think of more, but these are just examples.
The next question to think about is how long should you do aerobic exercise? This will again depend on your goals, your physical condition and of course your medical condition, but 10 to 60 minutes sounds OK to start, or as a goal. If you are in good condition, at least 30 minutes, with 40 to 60 minutes suggested. But, and here's a very good but, recent research has shown that as little as 10 minutes can improve your aerobic fitness as long as you do this exercise 2 to 3 times a day, 5 days a week. So, park far away from the mall entrance, climb a few flights of stairs to your office or apartment and plan short aerobic times during the day. The optimal is about 30 minutes for most people in our busy society. Stick to your target of 20 to 30 minutes each time you exercise, and cool down for 5 to 10 minutes. Don't forget to warm-up for the same time.

How do you know if you are training hard enough?

First you can check your heart rate. You can purchase a heart rate monitor to do this or you can take it manually with your index and middle fingers on the thumb side of your wrist or the groove of your neck near the jaw bone. To calculate your target heart rate, follow this simple formula:

220 - your age = your maximum heart rate (beats per minute)
Multiply your maximum heart rate by 0.70 to determine the lower end of the target zone. Multiply your maximum heart rate by 0.85 to determine the upper end of the target zone.

Here is an example: You are 30 years old:
Lower end of the target zone = (220 - 30) x 0.70 = 190 x 0.70 = 133
Upper end of the target zone = 190 x 0.85 = 162

Your target zone as a 30 year old is 133 to 162 heartbeats per minute.

I fyou are 14 you should not be dieting. that can be really harmful to your development. you should be limiting sugar, like sodas and candy, and avoiding fast food like burgers, pizza and fries but most of all EXERCISE!!

You don't sound overweight to me, you probably just need to get a little more toned up. If you start walking or riding a bike or playing a sport at school you will feel better about your body!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
