Is there anyone who knows someone who sufffers from a gaming addiction? I am talking to the point of where they cut themsleves off socially to the rest of the world and their family and all they care about is there game. Does anyone know anyone like this?

yes my ex boyfriend. he is always playing games to the point i was lying in his bed half naked and he told me to hold on bec he had to pass the level. it took him 20 min to pass the level so the mood was killed

Yah, myself, 10 years ago :p No online games back then? Nope, there is already one, Ultima Online, but it's not Ultima Online that I was addicted to, it was MUDs or "TEXT-based" online games, these are the predecessors of MMOGs.
Present time? I know a lot, as someone who works in the online gaming industry, I am exposed to the market. I get to meet and to know our customers, ranging from responsible gamers to completely irresponsible gamers who are willing to sacrifice their own wives and children for the sake of their gaming career.
