Rockford Fosgate has made it rather simple to have a "kick ***" system with a factory head unit. It is called the 360. There are two versions, 360.1 and the 360.2. The .1 will run you between $300 and $400. About what you would pay for a good aftermarket head unit. The .2 is twice as much but offers you a lot more control over your system than any headunit out there. The 360 uses the inputs from your factory radio and turns them into aftermarket sound quality.

No matter what kind of music you listen to, I always recommend a sealed enclosure. The sub is more stable and provides a lot better sound quality without sacrificing much SPL. It will still sound good whether you listen to rock or rap.

Since you stated that you already have two amps all I can offer you is to get speakers that have an RMS rating that is the same as your amps RMS ratings. There are a number of ways to wire speakers together to proper power and ohm values. If you were to go to a local stereo shop and tell them what you have I am sure they would be able to help you out. As far as brands of speakers, everyone is going to have a different opinion. I personnaly have Orion components up front, one JL 10W6V2 powered by two fosgate amps controlled by a fosgate headunit. It all depends on what you think sounds good and what you are will to spend. The best rule I can give you is this: You get what you pay for.

Good Luck

its not hard to keep your factory deck. you just need a JL audio clean sweap. however, your factory deck gives you less options then a aftermarket.

if you like rap then you want a ported box. if you like rock then a sealed box is better for you.

on a budget i would try to keep the watts down. dont get anything that needs more then 1000 watts. and unlike comman believe, more watts does not always mean louder or better. what it does mean is more lights dimming, and harder on the electrical system of the car.

best advice to you. go to a private shop, NOT a best buy or a circut city, but a private shop that sells car audio. be sure to check out these brands

Boston Acoustics
MB Quart
Pioneer Premier
Kenwood Excelon
Eclipse
Diamond Audio

all of these brands are top of the line. but you wont find any except Eclipse (there lower end stuff) at BB or CC. go into a shop listen to sealed boxes, ported boxes, subs speakers amps, and anything else you want to learn about. ask questions, tell the guy what your doing, and what you want, and have him guide you from there.

Good luck
