It's traditional to kiss at the moment when the new year begins...if nothing else it's good luck. And, just to inform you, kissing is always a priority. What were you thinking?!

It is not a priority. It is a fake tradition. New Years Eve, like all of mans holidays have been pumped up and commercialized to make you think this is something you should do.

in past times the first kiss of the year is said to have a bearing on how the rest of your year will be. and since then we have made it more commercialized to do so at the stroke of midnight.
Me personally I would want my first kiss of the year to be with my better (if I have one) half...just my opinion on that

Just a way to celebrate the end of the old year and what it brought...and the hopes for the new year coming in...a kiss for luck and happiness....
What harm in it?
