Small minds. Small minds believe that their religion is the right way and try to impose this on everyone else, weather it be the Christians or the Muslims inflicting this on everyone else. Most wars break out because of religion. Just as much as people find refuge in religion, they make that a reason to hate people.

Human ignorance. This results in people not understanding other cultures, other religions and leads to war. Human ignorance also results in people only caring about themselves, never thinking about the future of the world. Ignoring the evidence of environmental problems for the sake of the economy.
