There is a story in Sahih Bukhary about prophet Muhammed who was spending the day at one of his wives' homes (Hafsa) and he gave her a permission to go and visit her parents, then he invited his concubine (sex slave) Maria to have sex with her.

Unfortunately, his wife (Hafsa) caught him and she was angry at him so that he swore to her not to touch his concubine (Maria) ever since. However, after a few days god revealed two verses from the Quran to prophet Muhammed allowing him to have sex with Maria and blaming him for not enjoying her [66: 1-2].

The whole story is mentioned in Sahih Bukhary and also in the Quran (see the link in its original Arabic language):

I was shocked to read that story because I have always thought that prophet Muhammed had never had sex outside marriage. Does this story stand with what we know about prophet Muhammed's high morals?

Morals???? Ha. I don't have to read the Quran to get a lesson in morals.
Why did his wife have the courage to confront him? Surely she faced a beating. Silence woman, you second class thing.!

Sweetie_b I love you.

Stop giving people the link to your source in arabic---because not everyone can read arabic! And i'm sure that the website is corrupted and misleading as many other sites. I've never seen any of your reference in english and from a correct source so far. You can always find misleading hadith as well! btw, the qur'anic ayat didn't have any reference as to which ayat and sura you had! And for your information, having intimate relations with slaves were allowed in the time of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him but it's not anymore! Because you can never find a just person as our prophet pbuh anymore!

in that time , the man who own a slave can treat her as a wife , but she didn't reach the level of being a free women .

people was own slaves and when qur'an came down to Mohamed peace be up on him didn't ask them to not use them .

prophet Mohamed (pbuh) the first one who call to freeing the slaves gradually.
and in a few years there is no slaves .

i found this story a great one , and show how moral he was .. again .. god allows to treat the slaves as a wives,so that what he did with Marya but when hafsa get angry , he swear to Allah to not touch her again (to to satisfy her) , But Allah ask him to not follow his wives wishes and to not forbidden what god allows him to do .

hope i explain that clearly :)

peace

there are many things that God is acclaimed to have done! that seems exactly opposite of what the scriptures say to do.
But If God never changes and the words of the scritpures can be changed than it not by the will of God but by another!

would you learn about evolution from a creationist?

It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher.

- Annie Besant The Life and Teachings of Muhammad, Madras 1932, p 4

His readiness to undergo persecution for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement all argue his fundamental integrity To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad.

High Morals, LOL. Many wives, send one away to have sex with a woman that is NOT his wife, and then "suddenley" God says, "OH, shame on you for not having a good time, now go and tell everyone its okay"

High Morals, Im still laughing.
