I was raised as a Catholic and told that if you committed suicide you went to Hell. I do not agree. Not do I feel that suicide always results in bad karma. I ask this because I had a friend who committed suicide. He went through absolute hell in this life!

Bad Karma results from doing harm, suicide is harming oneself. It is still harm. I am sorry that your friend went through such rough times and decided to make that choice. And I am sorry for the loss you feel. No one knows 100% why we are here but hopefully we can learn some things while we are.

Bright Blessings )O(

Suicide is not the answer to a bad life. Love can turn a life from bad to good. Even if someone did not feel loved enough growing up and possibly even had a tough life love can change their world for them almost overnight.

I wish everyone could feel loved and could love. In our world we need to propagate love, just like we manufacture anything if we can manufacture love we will improve the lives of those around us.

Why do people have to hate? Hate the fags, I hate blacks, Asians, crackheads, gang members, you, him, her...

My Christmas wish is that everyone can find real and lasting LOVE. I hope that the Gay's can fall in love and get married (if they wish). I hope that the gang members can find love and be turned from their world of violence.

Love is the only commodity that can truly make a big difference in this world for anyone contemplating suicide. Forget what happens to someone who commits suicide, just mourn their loss and your loss. Then go out and try to make someone who needs a little love feel some love from you in their honor maybe?

God gave us the world to live in, gave us life to live with but never promise an enjoyable life for everyone and if you commit suicide, is it not that you are going against God? I believe everything that happen to us have a reason behind and the decision we make created our own character in this world which in little contributes to God's will. If you thought of committing suicide, think of the beggars in the streets. Why does these people even bother to live on day by day for others to help them? Remember, no matter what hap pend in the pass is past. What you think about yourself is the most important thing, not what others think about you. At the end of the day, its your choice to choose to smile or to cry. Lets pray for your friend for eternal peace.

The catholic church does not teach that all people who commit suicide go to Hell.

Quoting from teh Catechism:

Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.

We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives.
