I am having a really bad experience with them, they are only going to pay 50 % of the damages to my car caused by their insurer,I have talked to several people who had the same problem with them, I'm just trying to figure out how many are out there.

Overall, Farmers has a reputation for fast, fair claims service and an excellent agency force. They will not always be the cheapest insurance but they should treat you right.

I'll caution you to the future answers you receive on this subject, though. Keep in mind that those that are unhappy with Farmers (or any ins co) are far more likely to let others know than those that are happy. Take it with a grain of salt. Most unhappy customers misunderstand the purpose of insurance and it's up to the agent and claim rep to educate the consumer so this isn't a factor.

I can't guarantee great service but I can guarantee that Farmers preaches customer service and quick response time to the employees . Heck, when I was a claims rep there, I had called people who reported a claim and left a message on their cell phone while they were still wrapping up their call to our 24 hr claims reporting office. Adjustors get paged 60 seconds after a claim is assigned to them. They have 24 hr contact guidelines on auto claims but it's usually same day, response within the hour on claims with serious injuries, and 2 hrs on property claims involving water in your home. God forbid your house burns down or blows over but if it did, they assign a claims rep who handles your claim and yours only to keep the focus on you and expedite the process. That's not to say they don't have a hitch every now and then but I think they're an excellent company overall

I'd say go for the best deal you get, because when it comes to the crunch you have the same rights by law, regardless of who you are with. However you should Check with your state's insurance department to see if who you choose to go with are licensed to do business.

Try filling a form here: http://car.insuranceaskingprice.com/index2.htm and this is also very fast and reliable: http://car.insuranceaskingprice.com/index.htm no obligation to buy, they are just pricing tools
hope it works out for you!

there's a lot of factors that go into what kind of rates you get. for example, auto rates can be great if you are over 25, have no tickets, accidents, or claims, have continuous prior insurance coverage for at least a year, and have good credit. and you can get extra discounts for having multiple policies with farmers, such as homeowners, renters, life, ect. but if you're a young driver that has tickets or accidents, then the rates get pretty high.

I work for Farm Bureau and I have never heard any people who switched to us complaining about Farmers. However, I hear complaints about Geico, Progressive, and Nationwide on an almost daily basis. But like Ryan said, you have to take it with a grain of salt.

That being said, maybe you should consider switching to Farm Bureau. Here in NC, we were rated #1 by body shops statewide for speedy claims service.
