I love to do homeless ministry. So I would but I bunch of blankets, bars of soap, bibles, sweatshirts, socks, ect. and go hand them out. If I had extra money after that I would donate it too the lady who runs the homeless ministry where I go to volenteer(SP).

Have a very Merry Christmas!

I'm guessing you mean what car do we think you should buy for $1000 since this is in the buying and selling section?

I would say you need to find a private seller in a newspaper or Craig's list who will give you a deal. Find yourself a nice little Honda or Toyota that doesn't look too abused. I would look for someone asking $1500 and try and bargain them down.

I would avoid used car dealers if you are in that price range. You dont want what they have for $1000, plus they will probably just try and take your $1000 as a downpayment and talk you into something more expensive.

Now if you actually WERE asking what I would PERSONALLY do with $1000? I would fix a few things on my aging Volvo, get some new suspension bushings, shocks and springs.

Either 3 months worth of prepaid rent, or my Lamborghini doors for my Mustang with the installation. It would all just barely be covered. I've been saving for Lamborghini doors for awhile but rent seems to keep getting here before I can truly have enough! D'oh! Nice question by the way, it made me think!

As deparately as my family needs the money right now, I'd have to give it to a dear, sweet friend. She has a lot of health problems and can't work. On a fixed income and wheel chair bound, her van died the other day. It wouldn't be enough to fix it entirely, but it would go a long way. Without the van, she can't go anywhere. The van transports her wheelchair...

First look at how you acquired the money and then proceed with your long and short term goals in mind. For the short term you may think of buying immediate items that you need and in the long term try to invest in something that can bring in more returns

Save it as an emergency fund. If you don't have a thousand in the bank, it is the best use of the money. Then I would pay any debts. Then I would likely buy a big TV....

I will divide it up into stocks for my two kids, they'll each get $500. Because saving money these days are very important and I like to think about the future.

STUPID BILLS!!! School loans, credit card debt, utility bills, rent, car payments, insurance payments, doctor bills and the list goes on. Do these bills ever stop coming? I'd pay bills because it's the right thing to do.

Or I'd go on vacation because I'm stressed from paying bills.
