I have ADHD and take Adderall given by the doctor. Also I did not know that I was pregnant and I tanned all of the last two weeks and drank beer at my Company Christmas party last weekend. Does this mean that I have already hurt my baby?

According to HealthSquare.com for the listing of Adderall:

Heavy use of amphetamines during pregnancy can lead to premature birth or low birth weight. Avoid taking Adderall unless absolutely necessary. Amphetamines do find their way into breast milk, so you should not take Adderall while breastfeeding.

Note that it says "heavy use." Call your doctor, tell him or her that you found out your pregnant. I'm sure there are safe alternatives to Adderall that can be prescribed while you're pregnant. Now that you're aware that you're pregnant you should, obviously, not drink anything alcoholic, tan or any of the numerous other things mothers to be are told to avoid.

Good luck to you, and congratulations!

My mom, when she was pregnant with me, went to the doctor to confirm that she was pregnant. He did tests and felt around her stomach, and concluded that I was a tubal pregnancy, and would have to be removed. She was so upset. My father was away at sea at the time, so her friends, also navy wives, took her to a non dominational religious gathering. At the end of the gathering, there was a Jewish Rabbi doing blessings for people. My mom's catholic friend convinced her to go up and have a blessing performed on her. The rabbi asked her what she wanted to be blessed, and my mom could only reply that she would have a healthy baby, and did not mention anything else. The congregation prayed. The next day my mom went in to have me removed. The doctor was shocked, she said that he kept feeling and shaking his head and looking at the ultrasound, and shaking his head. He told her that he couldn't explain it, but I was not where I had been. I had moved down the tubes and into the utereus like I was supposed to be. He told my mom that he hadn't had a clue how it happened, but she had a normal, healthy pregnancy. I think miracles exist and there's a reason behind each and every one. My thoughts and prayers are with you. There is hope! Never lose hope.
