Apprarently, the idea is, god inspired the OT.
Later, he thinks that he either screwed up the OT, or he erred in it's delivery. He decided a "new law" had to be written and a new way of getting the message to people.
So, god decided that a woman needed to be raped by him, he needed to have a human son be born of his godly seed, and his message could only get out ot people via that son's torturous murder and resurrection. (the NT) Same god, though...
Yeah, that makes sense, doesn't it. This is the God's decision for how he must get his message accross to people. Wow -- what a thought! LOL... And here we are, 2000 years later, and more than 70% of the people on earth still reject it for the nonsense it is. God, knowing the future, puts this plan into motion anyway knowing that incredible global failure rate for the bible.
And the whole premise is that god screwed up at least once and had to correct it.
Another fatal flaw in the bible. Complete and utter cult nonsense. What's really sad is that people still beleive this crap in spite of the glaring nonsense and complete lack of logic and reason.

god is the same yesterday today and forever.in the old testiment, people were just starting to come to god and they were very evil and god had to destroy the whole earth once with a flood they were so evil, only eight people survived that was noah's family. the god od the OT was not mean or anything he loved those who feared him and obeyed him, its just they were so evil it wasn't fit for them to be on earth causing chaos and murdering people and so on. in the NT it focuses on JESUS god's only begotten son, that people can be saved through him, see we are so bad he had to sesnd JESUS down to pay for our sins. because we are not good but jesus is pure and so if we believ in him and call upon him we can to be saved. God is good, all the time, he dosent change or fall short concerning his promises as men do. he is good and awesome and i love him and he loves us all.

The living God of the OT (as you put it) always offered mercy before judgment, always. He preferred mercy over judgment, however, some chose not to accept it.
Because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, judgment will now come either when we die...or in His second coming.
The living God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

We create god in our image. The OT god was created by a tribe that had established itself in the mid-East but was surrounded by armed enemies. They needed a father god who could kick butt and take names. The NT god was created by a sect that had no power. They needed a mother god who loved them and would take them away to a better place.

Yes, Old Testament God was kind of cruel.
He even didn't think abortion was a big deal.
Exodus 21:22 "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child so that her fruit depart her...he shall pay a fine determined by a judge"
Sounds like a minor sin to me

i'm an atheist, yet, after having study the Bible assorted circumstances, i've got grown to dislike the thought that the old testomony God is plenty distinctive from the recent testomony God. interior the OT, God isn't "wrathful, violent, tyrannical" as such fairly a number of my fellow atheists declare. He actual helped the Israelites against their Canaanite foes, yet what could you do in case your buddies needed to ravage your cities. The OT regulations of Deuteronomy, however actual unacceptable in in the present day's greater "civilized" society, have been the norm lower back interior the olden days of the classic Hebrews and, for this reason, ought to be seen in a ideal context. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the OT God substitute into additionally merciful, from listening to the cries of his human beings and assisting them to even forgiving King David of his crime of homicide/adultery. adequate of that, shifting directly to the recent testomony. Christians get exhilaration from picturing Jesus as an entire guy of peace and love. besides the very undeniable fact that he actual did sell a widespread message of peace, there are a number of "frustrating sayings" that could make some human beings scratch their heads. as an occasion, he reminds us that many pass the line to damnation. Ooh, frightening, no longer very "loving" in spite of everything. With love, an atheist

They are the same God, the difference was the OT God was establishing laws, teaching people what he expected, and clearing the way for Christ. The NT God, same guy, excpet with Christ, his laws were fulfilled, he no longer needed to establish them, and faith became integral to learning.
Same guy, different purpose to fulfill through time.

Do you believe God became a man and died on a cross for your sins? If not there is no sense trying to explain God to you, because you are in darkness and cannot understand. You are spiritually dead in your sins.
