My wife cracked her tooth, it's not too badly cracked but it is cracked none the less. I was just wondering before we go to the dentist, is this an easy thing to get taken care of?

I cracked a back tooth of mine 2 months back and a small part ended up chipping off. First appointment they slightly sanded it down and put a temporary filling on it, so I wouldn't have exposed nerves/pain/to protect the remaining tooth.

A week later they had to sand my tooth down and place a temporary crown on and I had to go back 2 weeks later to get the permanent one on.

From my experience with the dentist, no this isn't easy to fix. If not bad now, it will probably get worse or break when least expected. They will x-ray it, may suggest a crown. Not cheap and not fun. I hope you have dental insurance as I don't and have terrible teeth (hereditary). It is very costly. Don't wait too long to go to a dentist. That little crack can start hurting anytime, usually the worst time, and she'll be in misery.

Cracked or chipped? The former is difficult if not impossible and the later is easy but expensive.
