"Kitty Litter Cake"

WANT TO HAVE FUN AT A PARTY? PREPARE THIS RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE, BUT YOUR FRIENDS MAY NOT THINK SO!

On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so that my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn't look very nice, but it's actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.

CAKE INGREDIENTS

1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"

1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

I have been there, trust me! I used to work in an office of about 10 people and we would try to have a potluck every month. There were always those same people who would run and sign up for plates, napkins, forks, ice, cups, etc. That used to really make me mad b/c those folks are the same ones that would eat up all the food! Eventually, the people who provided actual food all the time got tired of it and the potlucks slowly vanished (very unfortunate). But if you dont want to end up like our office did, you can try some of these ideas: 1. Have a sign up sheet with categories (utensils, meat, veggies, dessert, etc.) and make a rule that you can't bring something in the same category more than once. If they don't like the idea, then they don't have to participate. 2. As you mentioned, you can have a prepared list and people can choose what they'd like to bring. 3. You could just mention it to everyone during a meeting or through email, or if it's the same offenders and if you feel comfortable with it, you can try to talk to them individually. I might say something like, "I noticed that for lunch the other day you had xxx, and I bet it would be a great potluck dish!" etc. 4. Some people just bring that kind of stuff b/c they either can't cook, or they feel that they don't cook well enough. And sometimes it's a financial issue (making a dish to feed 30 people is far more expensive than buying some sodas or a few bags of chips). Finding the root of the problem will help to solve it much easier. If it's b/c they can't cook, maybe someone could share an easy recipe with them. If it's financial, then maybe instead of contributing a large dish he/she can pool money together with others who are in the same boat and contribute towards pizza or subs, etc (as you mentioned). It's a shame that people are like that, b/c much like you, I wouldn't feel comfortable eating if I didn't fairly contribute to a potluck lunch. Whatever you decide to do, you should do SOMETHING otherwise something that was meant to build morale will quickly lower it and cause problems. Good luck!

Well, making your co-workers sick isn't a fantastic career move. Try a quick Thai pasta salad. I stir this with my hands to coat the noodles, but be sure to wear your rubber dishwashing gloves because of the chili oil. You'll be the toast of your office and that might go a long way to making you not hate your co-workers. There's a buddhist lesson in your situation.

Thai Pasta Salad

½ C Soy Sauce
3Tbs Rice Vinear
3 Tbs Sesame Oil
1+ tsp Chili Oil (to taste)
1 ½ Tbs Sugar

Cook #1 Pasta – Drain for ½ hour after rinsing with cold
water
Mix pasta, wet ingredients and package of Broc or
Cole-Slaw. Top with Cilantro and Peanuts.

just bring some rolls! Make them hard as a rock! That ought to teach them! They may get a few broken teeth and you do not have to spend a lot of money!

The recipe for Kitty Litter Cake is cute! I made ot before, but the poop was made from cookies that you make yourself! When serving, you use Grape nuts cereal instead of the cookie crumbs! It made my family so disgusted that they did not even eat them! That year I made about 25 different types of cookies, and those were the only ones that were left! LOL!!

Go for the brownies with x-lax! Make sure they're really good and fudgey so everyone will eat them.

But try to sneak some into someone else's dish too so they don't figure out it was the brownies that made them sick!

This is the funniest thing ever. Seriously, be an adult and don't make anything.. if you make something that makes them sick.. they would be under legal right to sue you... and if proven that it was done maliciously... u could be forced to go to jail ... I belive it is called ... attempted murder.

BAD IDEA!
Getting caught, being fired from job, police involvement, possible hospital stay or worse for those with medical conditions unbeknownst to you.
Dont bother even going, opt out of the whole thing.
Be the adult.
