Some girls may feel attracted to older boyfriends. They miss the father and they try to find both, a father figure and a boyfriend, in one person.
The danger is, that men may take advantage of that.
Be careful !

My father died when I was 13 as well. I understand completely. If he was a loving father like mine. You still have some self esteem intact. Now when you start getting of age where you can date is where it starts getting a little tricky. Every teenage girl wants to know they're still pretty; and no, you don't want to hear it from your mom. But, if your mom and dad had a loving and great relationship, like mine did. You can base the type of guys off of what he was like. But try not to start dating until you are at least 16, I think your dad like mine would rather you wait until you're 50, but at least decide on your future first.

It really will depend on how the mother handles it. Hopefully the mother will not parade a slew of men in and out of the house. No man should be introduced to the daughter unless there are marriage plans. Hopefully there is a great grandfather in the family. Do not let her date too early, or grow up too fast. It would be harder on a male child actually.

I guess it would all depend on the relationship she has with mom. Does she have any male role models in her life? She could have problems bonding with men if she is not exposed to men. She could have attachment issues, because she will feel abandoned by her father. She will need someone to talk to, she will be angry, hurt, and lost. What kind of relationship did she have with dad? There are a lot of problems that could creep up. Having someone to talk to is essential to her well being.
