it really depends on what type of red you are using....if its a deep red, rich colour, you can use your plum with a caramel colour for accents...that would go nice. Gold with your plum very Indonesian like or you can decorate more toward the Tuscan theme....very nice.
If you stick to one theme by using accents without mixing too many different colours....I'm sure your plum, red, and caramel will go together quit nicely!!
Merry Christmas!!

I think a different color with red such as bronze or burgundy would go with this color. If you decide to go with the red and plum them you should make sure that the colors will compliment each other, and you can also include a neutral color that will compliment these colors as well.
I recommend that you go to Lowes or Home depot when you decide to chose a paint for you walls because you can customize the colors that you want go on your walls.
Please let me know how your project turns out.

try a deep blue or a deep green.
paint the walls a light color, such as an ivory or off white.
if you have too many dark colors in the room, it will seem a lil overwhelmig. the light walls would bring the eye around the whole room. you could try painting just one wall red or plum. for a bolder effect

I like 3golds idea of the red with caramel or you could use a gold color or bronze. you could do 2 walls red and 2 caramel or 3 walls caramel and one red - you don't want your red to be overpowering. A deep plum and deep red might be very dark - you might want to use a lighter color on the walls like a light tan, brown, or vanilla - and use red/plum accents or trim.

Light, neutral colours like beige, cream and white open up small areas and reflect light, making your room appear brighter and instantly larger :] Try buying some "tester pots" from your local DIY store to see what looks best on your own wall. If you want to inject some colour into the room, you could do this by having bolder curtains, cushions and decorations such as candles. I have this in my living room and it looks fab :] Red and brown cushions, candles, curtains [soft furnishings] and plain walls. If your walls stay plain, you can always change the soft furnishings to create a new look later on!

The red should be a subdued red. Otherwise the colors sound good together. I think the wall should be the red. A good color to add to the combination is cranberry.

for the walls I would recommend a beige color.. something more brown then pale. I think various tones of brown/tan will go with those color choices. You may even get away with some almond in there, although it may be too pale for the strong colors you chose.
