It sounds like he is too shy to make the first move, in which case you are going to have to. Don't be afraid of rejection since it is so obvious he likes you. Just ask him to go to the movies with you or something similar to that (or hang out w/ mutual friends). There doesn't seem to be any way out of making a move, so show him how assertive you are and things will finally get started for you. This little limbo between liking and dating you are experiencing now means the only next logical action to take is to ask him out!

There will be a natural evolution toward more of a relationship, just relax and enjoy the time together. I think it's "working" all by itself. :) Just make sure he treats you with respect. There is one thing I believe thats that people are better off participating in the relationship rather than talking it to death. Shared activities, optimism and respect are the cores of any good relationship. One of these days you might say, "gee there's a movie I've been wanting to see..." and then see if he meets the challenge. :)

It seems like he wants to but he could be nervous. Just casually ask him what is behind the whole tickling and hand holding gestures and he might break the ice. This may sound juvenile but ask one of his friends or your friends to talk to him to see what's up if he won't say anything to you about going out.

One possibility is that he thinks of you as a friend and simply likes to "play" with you. I see no reason for you to ask him out and the way to do it is to "suggest" and "give hints" as opposed to asking him out. Tell him that you want to go eat at restaurant X or watch movie Y and if he wants to come along. It will work.

It sounds like he likes you he's just afraid to ask you about it. Just get someone else to ask him if he likes you. But dont tell the person to be like "(your name here) wants to know if you like her." She has to be like "Hey, do you like that chick (your name here) because you are always flirting with her?" but she cant be all obvious that you told her to ask him you have to ask just the right person to ask him. good luck.
