What's the difference between a day & night cream? Couldn't you use the night cream for both?

A day cream will usually have a sun block in it to protect your face from the sun.It is light so you can ware it under your makeup. A night cream is thicker and contains vitamins that rejuvenate your skin while you sleep.

Not necessary but very advisable. No to the second question, night cream is much too heavy. Preferably use a day moisturizer with sunscreen.

Depends on your skin. With very dry skin you can use night cream also in the daytime, if your skin is normal you might stick with a lighter moisturizer.
