You should always finish your antibiotics.

Unless you are having an allergic reaction to the medication, yes it's bad to go off the antbiotics early. Always finish the full course of meds. If you don't, you could have a relapse, which is harder to fight.

BTW...the flu is usually bacterial and not viral. I've even been given a prescription for viral infections, because I was so ill.

Take ALL of your meds.

If there is an infection in the body and the antibiotics are taken to kill the bacterias causing it, it wud be necessary to take the full course so that half way dead bacteria do not become antibiotic resistant. In case of viral infection, antibiotics are taken to prevent secondary infection caused during the viral infection. One is not sure if the said bacterial infection developed or not. It is therefore desirable to complete the course to prevent medicine resistant bacteria.

Yes! If you stop the antibiodics early the problem will reoccur. You may knock it down to where you don't have any symptoms after taking the antibiodics but the infection may still be present and then come back twice as bad. Not a good idea to stop them early. I've done it just to have to take another round of them. Don't do it!

If you did not have any side effects or strange reaction to the medicine you should finish its course. You might get the flu again because you did not allow the antibiotics to complete its purpose.

It is very important to finish your antibiotic. Your doctor might have seen something that he thought required antibiotics. When my kids had the flu the doctor put them on antibiotics because he said it sounded like it was going into their chest. I hope you feel better and I hope you finish taking the antibiotics.

Yes it is very important to complete the antibiotic course. If not our body produce antibodies againts that anti biotic and we become resistant to that drug . It won't be helpfull for us any longer.
