I'd find a book VERY difficult to learn accents from unless you are a wonderful linguist and can perfectly decipher their linguistic notations. I'd say your best bet would be to immerse yourself into their speaking. Watch only British TV, like the BBC. Listen to only British radio like BBC Radio One, BBC World Service, etc. Of course if you stayed there long enough, you'd likely pick it up on your own anyhow. There are also voice coaches who specialize in this so you could also have them teach you if you've got the money.

I doubt that books will help you. I would suggest trying to hang around British people, or if that is not possible, watch British shows, buy some language cd's. The only sure fire way is practice to get rid of you Mexican accent. My husband is Aussie and over the past 11 years I have picked up a lot of his accent without even meaning to.

My advice to you (i am born and bred in london - and moved to scotland) is - if you know the words - just say them slowly - people should get it - if that doesnt work i would try writing it down for them!
