Merry Meet brother. I'm a Pagan and I have good friends who are Christian. We talk about religion all the time with each other and it NEVER gets hostile or out of hand. Believe me, I know what you're talking about what with the disrespectful Christians saying we worship false gods and all. Forget those losers. We are better than them, I mean, we're not telling them that their god is false, but they are doing that to us. They think their poo doesn't stink, well they're WRONG. But there are good polite respectful Christians out there. Don't give up. Live your life according to your will and don't let any bible-thumping Jew-worshiper let you think you're wrong. Your brain is in the form of electric pulses and live cells. Theirs is in the form of leather and paper. Which of those is more trustworthy to you?
Blessed be!
Edit: Hey Tommysax, you obviously don't understand Paganism at all. Your logic is completely botched. You never will understand it. Pagans don't believe in multiple gods, we believe in ONE god, but that the one god is so big and impressive that there are different manifestations of god, just like there are different aspects of the earth. But of course, I'm just informing here. I COULD be like you and point out the countless flaws in Christianity, but unlike you, it doesn't bother me how other people choose to worship.

When one looks at all the major religions of the world, throughout history there have been religious wars and claims that one religion is better than another is. This is not new, but what is new is our generation. We as a society should strive for peace and with our intellect accept diversity within cultures and religions. We have evolved, with our new founded laws and government to a higher stature than the Dark ages and that time’s injustices. But when a person is raised in a religion and the individuals of that religion believe certain philosophies that discriminate other religions than it’s no use trying to change those individuals. They are on their own path, and as an individual you must accept with compassion. I know it’s frustrating I am a New Age Spiritualist and there are so many false ideas of what that means. I have great respect for Pagans and Paganism and know the history of the faith. Just ignore the ignorance of people’s prejudices, especially on the web and this site. Strive to converse with open-minded people and educate your faith to others, hopefully that will open up more doors for debate in a peaceful way.
**** May the stars shine peacefully upon you ****

Paganism isn't an off-shoot of Christianity. particular, there's a historic previous between the two religions yet Paganism because it quite is practiced at present has no longer something to do with Christianity. In Paganism, followers are inspired to locate deity from many diverse pantheons. there have been Pagans who've got here upon convenience in working with some Christian deities at the same time with Christ and the Virgin Mary. For some greater perspectives in this subject depend, stick to the hyperlinks under. good success on your seek.

I am not sure if that can ever happen. We are much more accepting of the "live and let live" idea, while Christians are maintaining that theirs is the "only way." (By the way, we should remind them that in the Bible, it states that people need to be wary of those stating that theirs is the only right way. So, that in and of itself is one reason to not worry so much about what they may think of others.) Another thing, most Christians were brought up believing the Bible's version of what is and what should be. I may be misunderstanding it, but from what I can recall, one of the Ten Commandments state "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me." That doesn't mean (to me anyway) that there are not any other Gods. Plus, there seems to be the common assumption that "God" is the man made image sitting on a throne in "Heaven" when, really, "God" is a spirit, that is bigger than anything we can imagine. When I am being scorned for my beliefs, I just shrug it off. I take no heed to anyone judging me. Who are they to do so? Therefore, to those people that have no meaning in my life, I waste no emotion on what so ever. If they want to "pray" for me, I say go ahead.
All I can say is that there needs to be more opinions based on facts rather than ignorance.

I've been around the world and at one time or another I've lived among people of vastly different cultures, belief systems, social tructures, material levels etc. etc. and it's been my experience that the overwhelming majority of people are not "at war" with others because they think or believe some other way different from their own. There just seem to be a certain loud, violent, belligerant faction in every group, when it comes to the matter of who believes what. They all think the same way... THEY are right and everyone else is wrong. Normal, intelligent people simply don't want to put themselves into the company of such individuals, and if we all left them to themselves to holler down their own rainbarrel, I guarantee there would be a huuuuuge reduction in the level of religious confrontations that seem to go on today. They aren't going to be entirely eliminated, of course, all the while there are those militant factions out there who push themselves in other people's faces, but it would be a darn good beginning.

This forum is hardly based in reality. Peace can exist between all religions if we pursue it with love and understanding. As an ex-pagan and now Christian, I have to point out that I think you're either encountering the wrong Christians or you are over reacting to things that you only want to perceive to be true.

The key for any opposing parties to getting along is to respect one another's beliefs. That probably won't ever happen in our society because we all have very strong convictions about our respective faiths. However, if we could put aside our differences, we could have a peaceful world and even put an end to wars. I do appreciate your attitude of tolerance and wanting to have calm, intelligent discussions. If everyone felt that way, we might be able to accomplish the goals you mention. Arguing and blasting other beliefs will not. Thanks for your opinion.

Sure, there's always common ground people can agree on. As I've learned a bit about paganism I've actually noticed some principles we have in common (we just call them different things).
For example, you believe in spirit guids, we belive in gaurdian angels and being guided by the Holy Ghost.
Wiccans believe in the three fold principle, Christians believe that we should do unto others as we would have others do to us.
I mean, there's of course obvious differences, but there's also some striking similarities when you look for them.
thanks

Fortunately, many Christians are more open-minded, respectful of other faiths, and desirous of peace than the "we're the only true religion and everyone else is going to hell" fundamentalists who participate here (not that all Christians in this forum are like that; we have some really good ones here, too). Don't lose hope, and most especially, don't let the disparagers drag you down to their level. People CAN get along, and some even TRY. Continue to be one who tries. It's worth it to be on the side of respect and openness.
May you and yours enjoy a Blessed Yule.

Getting back to your question - yes providing everyone closes their mouths and opens their minds just a llittle more...I've seen a few "pagans" on here spewing hate as well...I personally have no problem with the Christians until they start trampling my religious rights and insulting my deities. And to their credit, most of them on here tend to be respectful even when they disagree. I think deep in their hearts, the true Christians here are only concerned for what they perceive as "threats" to our souls...which simply shows me that the key to peace between our religions depends greatly on further education.
