my family rents a house on a beach front in Des tin, Florida. It has a nice beach!!! I have a now 2 and 3 year old and we vacation every year. I just know when I travel with my children to be well organized and have plenty of down time. Are best luck is to try to find a hotel with a Jacuzzi in the room and a indoor pool. I will let my girls play in the Jacuzzi (with out the jets on) with new bath toys or colored bath tablets. That gives me time to get ready or pick up the room in the evening and get stuff ready for the next outing. We try to stay for a longer period of time because at that age it is too much to do more than one activity a day. The pool helps to make them real sleepy before bedtime so they sleep well. It is not cheep but, worth the money. We tried to cheat once and it was hell!!!! My two year old was miserable and made us miserable it was a terrible waste of money!!!!!

I have heard wonderful things about the Disney cruises for children 3-5 years old (so for the future...)
I have been to Nassau and many places in the Caribbean and would never recommend taking a baby there.
Why not try Hawaii? I have been to Maui and the area is wonderful and fun. The flight is horrible so be prepared.
Never been to the Virgin Islands.
Good luck

At that age you can take your baby anywhere you go and not have a problem. They dont need entertained as much as they need supervised, and will be more interested in interacting with you than their new invironment.
Unless you have other older children, I would just choose a place that allows children, perhaps one with nannies provided, and go where ever you and dad feel like going.
Worry about exciting fun places when your baby is older, say 4-5.

I know it is not tropical but Wisconsin Dells is very child oriented. I went there when I was a child (or so I was told) and apparently had a blast.
