You can get chicken pox from shingles if you get in contact with the fluid from the blisters.

Yes, they can. I was 28 when I got chicken pox from my 8 year old nephew who had singles. My mom had exposed me to countless kids with chickenpox when I was a kid and I never got them. We assumed I was immune. Well, I wasn't. I got one heck of a case of them within about 6 days of being exposed.

Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus staying dormant in the body. As it is the same virus, it can produce chicken pox in those who are not immune to it.

As long as you have a rash, I think it could be passed on to your grandkids (through direct contact with the rash).

Why haven't your grandkids been vaccinated against chickenpox?
