I would think there wouldn't be, because, where would they land? How far from land would you have to be before you stopped seeing birds?

Im not sure about If birds do But when I went across the ocean on a ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland 6 hour boat trip across the atlantic ocean... We went to the stern of the ferry and there were Tons of Bats Flying with the boat. I guess they stay close to the ship incase they get tired of flying and need a place to land. I thought it was really neat, Maybe Birds do this too?

Way out to sea you would see very few birds. Most seabirds nest in coastal areas and will only fly out to sea looking for food as far as they can safely get themselves back. The distances would naturally vary with species.

Thats one of the signs explorers used to know when they were approaching an unknown landmass.

Also, the story of Noah's Ark mentions Noah sending out birds to seek dry land. One that could fly great distances never came back, the other came back with a twig in its beak, and Noah knew the flood was receding.

Yes , we do see them . Some are lost and some are natural long distance birds. And we feed homing pigeons too who are lost. I remember a case when we took a pigeon from Taiwan to Saudi Arabia and it only flew off on the return trip near Taiwan. Now that was a spoilt bird who liked cornflakes and not bread. We could not contact the owner cos the phone no was in Chinese which none of us knew....
