Ok i heard this officer say "sometimes you have to take a life to save a life" So who of you agree and who of you disagree? I mean ok a bank robber is in a bank waving a gun around and the officer is there ... the officer decides to use lethal force...in the name of saving a human life... so , does he decide to play GOD? Think about it now, is the officer any less a murderer if he kills the robber? i mean murder is murder plain and simple. Or is their another "kinder" term for taking another life? That being said , is their then such a thing as a Christian police officer?

this is such a complex question.

I personnaly don't believe in violence and killing, but I would imagine
if my life or the life of someone I love was in jeopardy I would be
singing a different tune.

It is so hard to imagine taking someones life under any circumstance.

this is a very good question, I never gave this much thought.
You asked "who decides if death if deserved"? to this question
I would have to say "God" Not a jury, nor a state

First of all a Christian is any person that believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Police officers do not commit murder when they use deadly force. From the dictionary you can see that murder is" the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought." Police officers are not breaking the law when they shoot a criminal down. And second if you were to look in and read Romans 13:4-5 it says that the government is Gods servant and that as a criminal you should fear their sword because they do not just have it for no reason. They are The Servant of God to bring punishment on the wrongdoers. The Bible and the dictionary are proof that police officers are not wrong in using deadly force. They have the training and permission to know when to use deadly force.

You do point out a good question. I have often wondered how that would play with the Ten Commandments, because one says Thou Shall Not Kill, and it gives no exemptions. But if I go to Heaven or hell, I "will" not hesitate to kill someone to protect my life, my loves one lives, or the life of an innocent person and I just hope and pray that God will forgive me. To me, if someone is about to use deadly force in the commission of a crime, then I will have no regrets in taking a life, and I have two daughters waiting for me at home, and I will do what ever I can to get home to them. It might be murder to some, but to me it would be saving a life or lives "worth" saving.

I'll propose another instance for you to think about. If someone broke into your home and has a knife at the throat of your baby, what would you do, if you had a gun? If you shoot the criminal in the leg, he can still kill your baby.

This is the type of situation police face when they are facing armed criminals but instead of their children they have citizens facing danger.

Deadly force is the last option for police officers but if it a choice between the criminal killing someone and killing the criminal, the criminal should be the one to visit the morgue, not law abiding citizens.

Well, we define murder as unjustified. So by definition, walking into a bank and shooting a citizen is different legally than shooting an armed criminal.
Morally, I think the vast majority of people around the world would see it differently as well. It may seem harsh to take that person's life, but they chose to go into that bank with a gun knowing full well that the police in this country are armed. It's not like he stole a loaf of bread and got shot.

There is no god, so there is no playing god. And if you believe in god, isn't taking an antibiotic "playing god"? How about putting on your seatbelt? I mean if it's your time, it's your time. right?

In 1938 the jewish community refused to kill, or fight back against the nazi's. They and their children paid for it with their lives. Being a Christian does'nt mean "Be stupid about everything". Killing isn't KIND.Sounds like you need to trim the tulips in your psyco garden. Sorry Butterfly, your right my grammer is pretty bad
